If you are using Maxthon or Brave as a browser, or have installed the Ghostery add-on, you should know that these programs send extra traffic to our servers for every page on the site that you browse. The most common causes of this issue are: GW1 is not cheap actually and it is a lot to go through.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. If you are dedicated I think I heard some people able to get it in 2 to 3 months, but I got it after 1.5 years with breaks because it gets tedious and I can't play that way.Īlso it is better you try GW2 for free and make sure you like it. If you are going for HoM 30/50 then it will take a long time. Without a larger and more active population, it is easy to get bored. I can see why people would have really enjoyed it, but it is very dated. I played GW1 during a long content drought in GW2. He is one of the most active GW2 video makers and loves to talk about game lore. She also has some videos that give an overview of the classes which would be good if you are new.Īlso you can look for older videos from Wooden Potatoes on YouTube. Tl dr - I suggest to just start Guild Wars 2, it has its own story and it won't spoil the first GW one. and i doubt you can, due to the time/grind gated nature of some items. The hall of monuments is not something you want to build in a short amount of time. It was an amazing feeling finding myself in the same places, recognizing the old music and the references, seeing for real the stuff in GW2 is only written or told. The first Guild Wars is a really great game, it had a really enjoyable playstyle and such an engaging lore!īut it was hard in some parts, and without my friend I would have been stuck on some missions for longer than I would have liked (and maybe I would have just quit). I started GW2 barely knowing GW1, after a year I got curious and I bought the first Guild Wars, I was on holiday break and I had time to waste, plus a guildie offered to carry me since he was skilled at the game and with a high leveled account. And many of the minis and weapons are just grinds or old birthday gifts you just can't get reasonably anymore. ![]() Even just "Map Completion" is hours of dragging your face along dirty walls to pick off that last. Plus, many Missions from the original game can be a pain unless you've the right build with the right Henchmen (Thunderhead Keep comes to mind), though if you've a friend who's played it, it might be a fun thing to do together, but regardless it's definitely a time-sink.Īs for The Hall of Monuments, you will learn to hate yourself far before you start GW2 if you attempt to build that up from scratch. There's quite a few quiet references to the original game, but stand alone it does not ruin the appreciation of GW2 imo. While it is enjoyable to note references/locations and such from the original game, and I personally played through Nightfall again before PoF came out - unless you've a notable amount of time to spare, I wouldn't worry an extreme amount about it. ![]()
